With a background in exercise science, health promotion, and complimentary medicine, I've always looked at health from a multi-dimensional and comprehensive point of view. From the highs of achieving All-American status as a collegiate athlete, to the lows of a life-altering past health struggle, I've realized how important it is to take care of the one body in which we have to live our lives. With this belief and passion, I've been lucky enough to turn improving the lives of others into a career.
Helping people is innate in my nature. Combined with my relentless passion for staying fit and the continuous desire to help others, I am fully committed to you and your fitness and health goals.
* I am here to give you direction.
* I am here to hold you accountable.
* I am here to be your motivation.
* I am here for you.
I look forward to having the privilege of authentically investing in your health!
My passion for health and wellness started after falling in love with the fitness guru himself, my husband, Stephen Menya. (If you have not read his bio yet, please do and you will understand where I am coming from.) I have always been a healthy, active person, but after meeting Stephen and seeing how much I could change the way I feel and look by just being more conscious of it completely inspired me. My desire is that everyone would receive the same inspiration to better themselves at some point in their lives.
Our body is a temple that has been given to us by our Lord and Savior, and we should do whatever we can to take care of it. This one body is all we have! I love inspiring people to take care of their temple. Seeing the look on someone's face who now can bend over and tie their own shoes or successfully go up a flight of stairs without losing their breath just gives me the shivers.
Opening Lions has been that blessing to us. A place we
would like everyone to be able to call their home gym. A
place of community with no intimidation. All are welcome
and we truly mean that.

Anne Sumangil is excited to return to the Robbinsdale area as a licensed Zumba instructor. Anne grew up in Golden Valley, attended Saint Margaret Mary's School and spent a lot of time in Robbinsdale as a child. In 1995, Anne's friend, Kim, became a Robbinsdale Princess and encouraged her to run for Miss Crystal. In 1998, Anne was selected Miss Crystal and went on to represent the Crystal Frolics at the Minneapolis Aquatennial. She was selected out of 48 women to be a 2001 Minneapolis Aquatennial Princess, one of three ambassadors for the festival.
Prior to being an ambassador, Anne attended the College of Saint Benedict where she was the captain and coach of the award-winning Saint Ben's Dance Team. After serving the Aquatennial, Anne auditioned and was selected to be a Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader in 2002 and 2003.
Anne is actively involved with local ambassador programs through judging and hosting coronations, including the Miss Robbinsdale coronation, for over a decade and judging the Whiz Bang Days Talent Show. She volunteered for the Director of the Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program for 8 years and was an Aquatennial Ambassador Organization Vice President.
Anne has a degree in Management from the College of St. Benedict and a Master's degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota. Anne works as a director at a college and coaches the college's dance team. In her free time, Anne enjoys taking a competitive hip-hop dance class, traveling and spending time with her family, friends and her pug Rupert.
More than a decade ago, I began practicing yoga simply to maintain some flexibility, but I was surprised, and delighted, to discover the many additional benefits of yoga, including stress relief, better focus, endurance, and strength! In 2007, I learned that I had breast cancer, and the surgeries and months of treatment were challenging, but my yoga practice had provided me with the physical and mental strength to get through it and to rapidly improve when treatment was over. The transformative power of yoga was something I experienced quite profoundly, and I knew I needed to share that amazing power with others.
I received my 230+ hour teacher certification in 2012, and am registered with Yoga Alliance. I also have my certification in Yoga for Cancer Care and am always working to further my education in this ancient practice. My goal is to help you create a practice that cultivates space within for the body and mind to sing in harmony.
I look forward to practicing with you!
For over 7 years I have been a licensed massage therapist. I specialize in deep tissue injury; being an athlete at one time in my life, restrictions and damage to muscles seemed to be a way of life.
My motivation is improving the quality of life for someone who spends the greater part of their day in nagging pain. In 2013, I enrolled in the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) program at Northwestern Health Sciences University.
A holistic approach to health and healing is my passion.
